【摘要】:UseoftheSteppedIsothermalMethoddecreasesthetimerequiredforcreeptooccurandtheobtainingoftheassociateddata.Thestatementssetforthin1.6areveryimportantinthecontextofsignificanceanduse,aswellasscopeofthestandard.Creeptestdataareusedtocalculatethecreepmodulusofmaterialsasafunctionoftime.Thesedataarethenusedtopredictthelong-termcreepdeformationexpectedofgeosyntheticsusedinreinforcementapplications.Note18212;Currently,SIMtestinghasfocusedmainlyonwovenandknittedgeogridsandwovengeotextilesmadefrompolyester,aramid,polyaramid,poly-vinylalcohol(PVA)andpolypropyleneyarnsandnarrowstrips.Additionalcorrelationstudiesonothermaterialsareneeded.Creeprupturetestdataareusedtodeveloparegressionlinerelatingcreepstresstorupturetime.Theseresultspredictthelongtermrupturestrengthexpectedforgeosyntheticsinreinforcementapplications.Tensiletestingisusedtoestablishtheultimatetensilestrength(TULT)ofamaterialandtodetermineelasticstress,strainandvariationsthereofforSIMtests.RampandHold(R+H)testingisdonetoestablishtherangeofcreepstrainsexperiencedinthebriefperiodofveryrapidresponsefollowingthepeakoftheloadramp.1.1Thistestmethodcoversacceleratedtestingfortensilecreep,andtensilecreep-rupturepropertiesusingtheSteppedIsothermalMethod(SIM).1.2Thetestmethodisfocusedongeosyntheticreinforcementmaterialssuchasyarns,ribsofgeogrids,ornarrowgeotextilespecimens.1.3TheSIMtestsarelaterallyunconfinedtestsbasedontime-temperaturesuperpositionprocedures.1.4TensiletestsaretobecompletedbeforeSIMtestsandtheresultsareusedtodeterminethestresslevelsforsubsequentSIMtestsdefinedintermsofthepercentageofUltimateTensileStrength(TULT).Additionally,thetensiletestcanbedesignedtoprovideestimatesoftheinitialelasticstraindistributionsappropriatefortheSIMresults.1.5RampandHold(R+H)testsmaybecompletedinconjunctionwithSIMtests.TheyaredesignedtoprovideadditionalestimatesoftheinitialelasticandinitialrapidcreepstrainlevelsappropriatefortheSIMresults.1.6Thismethodcanbeusedtoestablishthesustainedloadcreepandcreep-rupturecharacteristicsofageosynthetic.ResultsofthismethodaretobeusedtoaugmentresultsofTestMethodD5262andmaynotbeusedasthesolebasisfordeterminationoflongtermcreepandcreep-rupturebehaviorofgeosyntheticmaterial.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
