【摘要】:Thistestmethodevaluatestemporaryditchchecksandtheirmeansofinstallationto:5.1.1Reducesoillossandsedimentconcentrationsinstormwaterrunoffunderconditionsofvaryingchannelconditionsandsoiltype;and5.1.2Improvewaterqualityexitingtheareadisturbedbyearthworkactivitybyreducingsuspendedsolids.Thistestmethodmodelsandexaminesconditionstypicallyfoundonconstructionsitesinvolvingearthworkactivities,including:highwaysandroads;airports;residential,commercialandindustrialdevelopments;pipelines,mines,andlandfills;golfcourses;etc.Thistestmethodisaperformancetest.Itisacomparativetoolforevaluatingtheerosioncontrolcharacteristicsofdifferenttemporaryditchchecksandcanbeusedforqualitycontroltodetermineproductconformancetoprojectspecifications.Takecautionwhencomparingresultsfromdifferentlaboratoriesbecauseinformationaboutbetween-laboratoryprecisionisincompleteandslightdifferencesinsoilandotherenvironmentalandgeotechnicalconditionsmayaffecttemporaryditchcheckperformance.Uniqueproject-specificconditionsshouldbetakenintoconsideration.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheguidelines,requirements,andproceduresforevaluatingtheabilityoftemporaryditchcheckstoprotectearthenchannelsfromstormwater-inducederosion.Criticalelementsofthisprotectionaretheabilityofthetemporaryditchcheckto:1.1.1Slowand/orpondrunofftoencouragesedimentation,therebyreducingsoilparticletransportdownstream;1.1.2Trapsoilparticlesupstreamofstructure;and1.1.3Decreasesoilerosion.1.2Thistestmethodutilizesfull-scaletestingprocedures,ratherthanreduced-scale(bench-scale)simulation,andispatternedafterconditionstypicallyfoundonconstructionsitesattheconclusionofearthworkoperations,butpriortothestartofrevegetationwork.Thereforethistestmethodconsidersonlyunvegetatedconditions.1.3Thistestmethodprovidesacomparativeevaluationofatemporaryditchchecktobaselinebaresoilconditionsundercontrolledanddocumentedconditions.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Also,theusermustcomplywithprevalentregulatorycodes,suchasOSHA(OccupationalHealthandSafetyAdministration)guidelines,whileusingthetestmethod.
